The company realized, throughout the years, continuous success and achievements and became the leading industrial group in Kuwait and one of the largest industrial companies in the Middle East and the world.

Atlantic Investment Group was classified by Capital Intelligence among the best international companies and was awarded (A) status by the international credit rating agency in January 2005. It was also awarded the Gulf Excellence Award in March 2006 assuring the permanent role it plays in consolidating the economic sector on both local and regional levels thanks to its own performance and the performance of its subsidiary companies.

National Industries Group Holding was established in 1960 under the name of National Industries Company (NIC) by virtue of the Commercial Companies Law in the State of Kuwait with 51% of shares owned by Kuwait Government and 49% owned by the private sector. The company has been quoted since 1984 in Kuwait Stock Exchange. In 1995 and 1996, Kuwait Government sold all its shares in the company to the private sector (Companies & Individuals) as part of its privatization program. On July 14th, 1998, Amiri Decree No. 153/1998 changed the name of the company from National Industries Company to National Industries Group K.S.C. and in April, 2003, it became National Industries Group (Holding) K.S.C. and the activities thereof were restructured to comply with the new legal entity.

The Group strategy allowed the company to diversify from its traditional roots as a building materials company into direct investments in promising economic sectors in general and industrial sectors in particular, on both regional and international levels, including oil, gas, petrochemicals, heavy industries, infrastructure and privatization programs pertaining to power generation and public utilities.
